Description

Watermelon allergies share symptoms with other food allergies. Several IgE-binding proteins, ranging between 13 and 60 kDa, have been detected in melon extract by means of pooled sera from patients with melon allergy. A 13 kDa allergen was the main reactive protein band detected, and was identified as a profilin.
