Overview

This fungus is occasionally identified on a Pap smear and, for the most part, is an incidental finding posing no threat to the patient. However, if the patient is experiencing symptoms such as itching, burning, or cheesy discharge, she should be treated for a yeast infection to alleviate discomfort and prevent further complications.
