CYTOLOGY (DRAIN FLUID)

Overview

This is basicaly done to check for abnormal cells or inflammatory cells in a fluid obtained from the drain site after surgery. Normaly the drain is kept for around 2-3 days post surgery to collect fluid resulting from an inflammatory process at the surgical site.
