Description

Normally ammonia converts into urea in the liver and is excreted out in urine. The commonest cause of elevated blood ammonia is severe liver disease. The levels are also elevated in Reye Syndrome, Urea Cycle Enzyme deficiencies and other conditions like urinary tract abnormalities.
