Overview

Bleeding time is a medical test that assesses how quickly small blood vessels in the skin stop bleeding, evaluating blood clotting efficiency. It measures the time taken for vessel constriction and platelet sealing. Clotting time is determined by adding thrombin to citrated plasma, recording the seconds until a stable clot forms. These tests help doctors identify bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia or von Willebrand's disease.
