Overview

The leukocyte alkaline phosphatase (LAP) score is often used in patients with an elevated WBC to differentiate a reactive process from chronic myelogenous leukemia. This test is used to differentiate Chronic Myeloid Leukemias from Leukemoid reaction and Polycythemia vera from secondary causes of erythrocytosis.
