Description

This assay is useful for the detection of individuals with an ongoing immune process. It should be used as a screening test for congenital complement deficiencies. Low levels are seen during infections, disease exacerbation in known cases of SLE and in patients with immune complex diseases like Glomerulonephritis. Undetectable levels indicate possibility of a complement component deficiency.
