What is the Purpose of the Amylase ?
The Pancreas, an Organ situated behind the stomach, is responsible for producing enzymes and other key hormones. A condition known as Acute Pancreatitis causes the pancreas to swell and become inflamed. Amylase test is used along with Amylase Test to screen for Pancreatic disorders, especially acute pancreatitis. Preparation for Amylase

Unless otherwise directed by your doctor, there is no need for you to make any special preparations before the Amylase Test.
