CORTISOL (SUPPRESSION TEST)

Sample Required

2 mL of Serum in 1 red top (Plain) tube

Preparations Required

Low Dose Method : Administer 1 mg of Dexamethasone orally between 11 pm - 12 am, and draw 2 mL of serum from 1 Red top ( Plain ) tube the next morning at 8 am. High Dose MOn Day 1, draw a baseline cortisol sample of 2 mL at 8 am, administer 8 mg Dexamethasone orally between 11 pm - 12am. On Day 2, collect the second sample at 8 am. Both containers should be labeled with the time and date of the draw.
