Sample Required

Adequate saturation (The swab has absorbed sufficient specimen)

Preparations Required

The patient should preferably avoid eating, drinking, gargling, or using antiseptic mouthwashes for at least 2 hours prior to sample collection, if feasible. The procedure should be explained to the patient. Any prior or ongoing antibiotic therapy should be mentioned, as it may affect staining results.
