Preparations Required

Clinical history is mandatory Overnight fasting is preferred. A duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is MANDATORY. It is recommended that the patient stops Heparin 1 day before sampling and Oral Anticoagulants 7 days before, as these medications can affect the test results. Discontinuation should only be done with prior consent from the treating PHYSICIAN.
