Overview

Cystic fibrosis (CF), also known as mucoviscidosis, is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine. CF is caused by a mutation in the gene cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR).
