Overview

A Leukodystrophy gene panel test uses Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) to check many genes (often 70+) causing inherited white matter disorders, helping diagnose conditions like MLD or Alexander disease, distinguishing them from MS, guiding treatment, and enabling family planning by identifying specific genetic mutations affecting myelin. Its used for suspected white matter issues seen on MRI or neurological symptoms, offering a broad approach to various leukoencephalopathies.
