Overview

The Glucose Challenge Test (GCT) or Glucose Load Test (50 gm) is a screening test performed during pregnancy to assess the body's ability to metabolize glucose. Test performed between 24-28 weeks of pregnancy. The patient consumes a 50 gm glucose solution, and blood glucose levels are measured one hour later to identify potential gestational diabetes. Elevated levels may indicate the need for further testing.
