Absolute eosinophil count is increased in allergic or atopic disease, infectious disorders (including parasites), medications, immunologic reactions, skin disorders, pulmonary syndromes, rheumatologic diseases, myeloproliferative neoplasms and secondary to other malignancies. As compared to Total Eosinophilic count , vacoulated Eosinophils are more likely to be associated with severe allergic and Parasitic conditions. There main use is in evaluating these conditions in Asthamatic patients.
