What is the Purpose of the Screening Suraksha Package ?

The Screening Suraksha Package is advised for the following analysis:

  • Diagnosis: It can be advised to determine the cause behind your symptoms. It helps to confirm or rule out various disorders.
  • Monitoring: It is used to monitor a patient’s previously diagnosed disorders and the treatment of the same over time. One can take control of their hereditary conditions and lifestyle diseases through proactive steps and early intervention.
  • Assessing the effect of medical conditions and treatments: It is also used to monitor the effects of other medical conditions or medical treatments on a patient's overall health.

Sample Collection for Screening Suraksha Package

For a Urine Sample
  • For a Urine Sample, you need to get your sample collected in a clean laboratory vial provided by the lab.
For a Blood/Serum/Plasma Sample
  • The area where the needle will be inserted to take your blood is cleaned with an antiseptic alcohol wipe. The hollow on the inside side of the elbow or the tip of the finger are the most common sites for this.
  • A tourniquet or a band is tied around your upper arm to facilitate access to the vein in your arm.
  • A needle is used to puncture your vein. The blood sample is collected into a test tube attached to the needle. The needle may cause a small pinch or sting when it is inserted.
  • Once the vial or test tube is filled, the blood sample collection for the test is finished, and the needle is taken out.
  • Finger pressure is applied to the puncture site to stop the bleeding, and the bandage is applied at the site.

Tests Included in Screening Suraksha Package

8 Tests are included in this Package, which are:
  • Complete Blood Count( CBC/Haemogram)
  • SGOT (AST)
  • SGPT (ALT)
  • Urea
  • Creatinine
  • TSH 3rd Gen-Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
  • Glucose (Fasting)
  • Lipid Profile

Significance of Each Test in Screening Suraksha Package

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC/Hemogram): It is a blood test that measures the concentration, volume, and size of all-blood components, including red blood cells, hemoglobin, white blood cells, and platelets.
  • SGOT (AST): The SGOT (AST) test measures an enzyme linked to heart and liver health. Elevated levels can indicate heart muscle damage, such as from a heart attack, making it a useful tool for evaluating heart health and detecting acute myocardial infarction.
  • SGPT (ALT): The SGPT (ALT) test primarily measures liver health, but elevated levels can also indicate heart muscle damage. This makes it a useful, though indirect, marker for evaluating heart health when combined with other cardiac tests.
  • Urea: Since diabetes can cause kidney damage, it aids in the evaluation of kidney function. It directs the treatment of complications associated with diabetes and helps identify early indications of nephropathy.
  • Creatinine: Testing for creatinine assesses kidney function because high levels may be a sign of renal damage. It supports diabetic patients' kidney health management and the early detection of diabetic nephropathy.
  • TSH 3rd Gen-Thyroid Stimulating Hormone: Thyroid-stimulating hormone levels are measured with the TSH 3rd Gen test included in the Screening Suraksha Package in order to assess thyroid function. It aids in the diagnosis of thyroid conditions such hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Timely treatment is made possible by early detection, which improves overall health management.
  • Glucose (Fasting): This test is used to analyze your diabetes status (non-diabetic, prediabetic, or diabetic) based on your blood sugar levels after fasting for around 10-12 hours.
  • Lipid Profile: This blood test helps to determine your total blood cholesterol level, HDL-cholesterol (good cholesterol), and the level of LDL-cholesterol (bad cholesterol). It can help to analyze your risk of getting high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, and other heart diseases.
