Overview
A comprehensive diagnostic tool for determining the causes of Fever and related conditions is the Fever Care Package (KYC). It consists of an Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) to determine inflammation a Complete Blood Count (CBC/Haemogram) to evaluate general Blood Health and Identify infections or Anemia and a Quantitative C-Reactive Protein (CRP) to gauge acute inflammation levels. The SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT) Liver function tests look for inflammation or damage to the liver. Common tropical infections can be promptly diagnosed with the aid of rapid tests for Malaria Parasite Dengue Antigen (NS-1) Dengue antibody (IgM IgG) and Typhoid IgG+IgM antibody. Urinary Tract infections and other abnormalities in the Urine are detected through a Urine Complete Examination. A Peripheral Blood Smear (PBF examination) offers a close-up look at Blood cells to identify any abnormal cell Morphology Blood disorders or Parasites. When combined these tests provide a comprehensive solution for identifying the underlying causes of Fever and directing efficacious treatment plans.
You do not require any special preparation or fast before the sample collection. The samples required for this package are blood (collected from your Arms Vein) Serum Plasma and Urine. The results of this package testing will be compared to the standard.

What is the Purpose of the Fever Care Package ?
The Fever Care Package is advised for the following analysis:
- Screening: It is possible to detect health problems with the Fever Care Package even before symptoms show up. A doctor will typically advise such extensive testing as a screening and preventive measure during routine checkups. It might bring to light certain latent illnesses that might be the root of an underlying fever.
- Diagnosis: To figure out the reason behind febrile symptoms, this package is often recommended. A comprehensive analysis of the patient's blood and urine is provided, which aids in the confirmation or exclusion of a number of disorders, including infections, inflammatory diseases, and liver conditions.
- Monitoring: It helps in tracking a patient's prior diagnoses and the course of their treatment. This makes it possible to take preventative measures and initiate early intervention to avoid complications when managing chronic conditions or recurrent infections.
- Assessing the Effect of Medical Conditions and Treatments: Monitoring the impact of other medical conditions or treatments on a patient's general health is another application of this package. Key health indicators are routinely evaluated to help ensure the efficacy of ongoing treatments and the prompt identification and management of any adverse reactions.

Tests Included in Fever Care Package
10 Tests are included in this Package, which are:
- Complete Blood Count (CBC/Haemogram)
- Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate (ESR)
- CRP (Quantitative)
- SGOT (AST)
- SGPT (ALT)
- Malaria Parasite By Rapid Card (pLDH Based Vivax & Falciparum)
- Dengue Rapid Test Antigen (NS-1) & Dengue Antibody (IgM, IgG)
- Typhoid IgG+IgM Antibody (Rapid Test)
- Urine Complete Examination Automation
- PBF Examination/Peripheral Blood Smear/Blood Picture
Significance of Each Test in Fever Care Package
- Complete Blood Count (CBC/Hemogram): It is a blood test that measures the concentration, volume, and size of all-blood components, including red blood cells, hemoglobin, white blood cells, and platelets.
- Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate/Sed Rate: Your red blood cells may be sinking more quickly than usual during an ESR test, which could indicate that you have an inflammatory medical condition. Your test result's speed indicates the degree of inflammation you have. Faster the ESR rate, the more severe the inflammation. However, an ESR test alone is unable to identify the underlying cause of the inflammation.
- CRP (Quantitative): It is done to measure the levels of C-reactive proteins in the blood. This protein is released by the liver in the body when inflammation occurs. Therefore, this test helps in determining inflammation levels in the body.
- SGOT (AST): SGOT (AST) levels can rise as a result of several systemic infections, such as bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections. Elevated SGOT (AST) levels are indicative of liver inflammation and damage caused by infections such as dengue fever, malaria, and typhoid. Elevated SGOT (AST) levels may also suggest liver involvement, such as viral hepatitis or other liver infections.
- SGPT (ALT): Like SGOT (AST), SGPT (ALT) levels can rise as a result of systemic infections like malaria, dengue fever, and viral hepatitis. Elevated SGPT (ALT) is a common indicator of liver inflammation caused by these infections. When accompanied by a fever, elevated SGPT (ALT) levels may also be a sign of viral hepatitis, other liver infections, or diseases such as fatty liver disease that cause inflammation or damage to the liver.
- Malaria Parasite By Rapid Card (pLDH Based Vivax & Falciparum): Using pLDH detection, the Malaria Parasite Rapid Card test can quickly and accurately diagnose malaria by differentiating between Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium falciparum. It makes it possible to start treatment on time, which is essential for efficient management and lowering complications. The test is particularly useful for quick clinical assessments in field settings.
- Dengue Rapid Test Antigen (NS-1) & Dengue Antibody (IgM, IgG): For the quick diagnosis of dengue fever, two tests are used: the dengue rapid test antigen (NS-1), and the dengue antibody (IgM, IgG). The IgM and IgG antibody tests identify recent or previous exposure to the virus, whereas the NS-1 antigen test finds dengue virus proteins early in the infection. Collectively, they aid in confirming dengue infection and figuring out its phase, thus determining suitable therapy and management.
- Typhoid IgG+IgM Antibody (Rapid Test): Antibodies against the bacterium Salmonella typhi, which causes typhoid fever, can be detected using the Typhoid IgG+IgM Antibody Rapid Test. Specifically, IgG antibodies suggest a longer-term infection or previous exposure, whereas IgM antibodies indicate a recent infection. By enabling prompt diagnosis and treatment, this rapid test helps to identify typhoid fever.
- Urine Complete Examination Automation: This test helps in urinary tract screening, diagnosing, and monitoring a wide range of disorders associated with the kidneys and urinary tract.
- PBF Examination/Peripheral Blood Smear/Blood Picture: In this test, the shape, count, and size of blood cells are evaluated by examining a sample of blood under a microscope. It assists in the diagnosis of a number of illnesses, such as infections, anemia, and blood disorders like malaria and leukemia. Important details regarding blood cell morphology and anomalies are revealed by this thorough examination, which helps determine the best course of action for care and treatment.

- A tourniquet or a band is tied around your upper arm to facilitate access to the vein in your arm.
- A needle is used to puncture your vein. The blood sample is collected into a test tube attached to the needle. The needle may cause a small pinch or sting when it is inserted.
- Once the vial or test tube is filled, the blood sample collection for the test is finished, and the needle is taken out.
